FAQ

Most common issue is that you have a wrong version.

In Steam, right click 7 days to Die - Betas - Beta participation.

Nasty servers are usually always on latest experimental, so you should keep it in that setting.

Even if latest version is stable, it will still be in "latest experimental"-category too.

Other reason might be that servers are rebooting, or being worked on. Usually Discord has this information.

Besides the normal dukes we have two extra currencies: Z-coins and nasty tickets. Z-coins are earned by killing zombies. You get 1 per kill. VIP's get a multiplier bonus. They can be used in the laptops in the lobby. Nasty tickets are mostly looted from dressers in hotels and houses, but can also come from vote-rewards and other drops. They are an important currency that are both used together with Z-coins in the Z-coin store and to craft powerful mods, weapons and armor.

The lobby is a safe place that you can access directly or via /lobby command. You are not allowed to use it during bloodmoons though. Inside you will find traders, the Z-coin store (laptops), a vendor machine for special teleport potions, upstairs are the player vendor machines (1 per player), and downstairs are the gambling area. You can gamble with Z-coins and the special gambling tickets you receive when you reach certain levels. Unlike Z-coins gambling tickets are only used for this purpose. You gamble by right-clicking with your stone axe.

You can link your discord with player profile at player profile page.

3. Choose your role and thats it, you are done!

  • You should have a starterpack. Open it and get some helpful items.
  • Do the mandatory starter quests.
  • You can try commands like /daily or /gimme.
  • On webpage Nastypve.eu you can also vote once per day and possibly get nice items delivered to you.
  • You might get a daily lootcrate. Place it on ground and break it open.
  • If you get a Rare or Epic chest. Make sure you have the matching key in your inventory, place chest on ground, right click with stone axe. DON'T do this around lobby or someone's claim, because you won't be able to open it.

Players on Nasty servers are friendly for beginners, but zombies are not. And difficulty is high. But if you can get through the hard beginning, you're already better than those p*ssies on easy servers.

If you really want to get out of a tough spot, you always have the /lobby command available.

You remembered to join Discord, right?

The more comprehensive rule list is in Discord, but here's couple of most important ones:

  • Be a normal player. Do your things, build stuff, kill zombies, be merry, don't be a douche.
  • If you see an exposed base, maybe piece missing, maybe holes in walls, chests just screaming to be looted, maybe no-one will notice? Don't do it or your story on the server will be over.

Many.

Check the "Commands"-category in the Wiki.

YES!

All the info is in Discord. Very rarely in game chat or notifications.

Best way to contact admin is through Discord ticket.

In game admins are very often busy doing something else, like doing stuff in console window, or just AFK+invisible and doing something in another window and won't notice what's happening in game chat.

This happens sometimes. It's an issue with the game itself, the chunk generation process encounters errors.

If you report it quickly (make a ticket in Discord) after it has happened, there is a change the region file will be restored from a backup. This is not guaranteed, because in busy regions other players would lose their progress.

Sometimes admins can reimburse you with some building materials, but this is not guaranteed either.

There is also a change your base has collapsed due to stability issues. That is most likely 100% your fault.

If you have a complex base and are worried about stability, an admin can take a look if they have time for it.

Smart people build their base far away and have the whole region to themselves...  Usually these quieter areas don't get chunk errors either. Worst place to build is in the crowded area around lobby.

You probably teleported while inventory open, or in the middle of reload animation.

You can try if relogging helps. Otherwise you have to wait for server reboot.

It's better not to touch anything after you have given teleport-command!

This is an issue with the game itself and needs a server restart to fix.

Don't bother doing quests if zombies are in this state. They might not spawn properly and you will fail the quest. The server might even be in such a frozen state, that anything you do will be reverted to earlier state.

If an auto-restart isn't happening soon, you can ask for a restart in Discord.

If a player can jump on top of your base, especially during BM, zombies will tear holes in the walls and a thief can get in.

Make a ticket in Discord. Admins can check the logs and the thief will be banned. This is the most common reason for bans.

You probably activated it inside a claim, usually your own base.

Claim protection is so strong, that even airdrops can't drop in it.

Find an open area outside player structures or claims and activate it there.

The timing of a server wipe is always a mystery.  Don't ask in chat when it will happen. Definitely don't DM admins about it. Wipe interval should be at least 4 weeks, usually more. Depending on reasons listed below.

There are a few reasons that might result in a decision to wipe:

  • Player count gets low enough. Everyone has built what they wanted and generally get bored.
  • Map corruption or other errors get too severe to cope with.
  • Fun Pimps release an update that either breaks the current map (and/or mods), or it contains a lot of new stuff that can only be experienced in a new map.

If wipe happens within 2 weeks of your seasonal VIP purchase, your VIP will be renewed for next season too.

Sometimes this happens, since locations are random.

You have some options:

  • If it's in wastelands, you need radiation protection gear.
  • If it's in someone's claim, find out who's claim it is and ally with them for digging rights.
  • Abandon the quest, take a new one and move on. It's not the end of the world.
